Can you connect with people, inspire them and motivate them to achieve their goals? Do you have the desire to make a difference?

We need a team of bright, motivated people to act in either a Capacity Builder or Recruiter role.

Do you have extensive experience in the areas of coaching and counseling? Then our Capacity Builder role might be right for you! Capacity Builders coach and prepare job seekers for employment, and increase the effectiveness of training - the right skills at the right time - to better secure and sustain jobs. The Capacity Builder provides the human interface between job seekers and employers, responsible for the following:
  • Administering skills and readiness profiles
  • Conducting needs assessments and identifying skills-needs gaps
  • Coaching job seekers and guiding the creation of personal development plans
  • Assisting communities in the coordination of training activities
Or perhaps you have effectively coordinated the recruitment and selection process for an organization? Then our Recruiter role might be your ideal opportunity! Our Recruiters assist employers in hiring Aboriginal employees and executing their Aboriginal workforce strategy. They help connect potential employees with job opportunities by:
  • Developing job postings and searching, screening, referring and matching job seekers with job opportunities
  • Assisting in the forecasting of job opportunities and skill requirements
  • Working with capacity builders to develop pools of skills and areas of core competencies where and when they are needed.
Both roles require the completion of a two year diploma/certificate program in a related area from a college or university plus a minimum of five years of applicable experience. A comprehensive understanding of the unique environment of northern and remote communities as and a deep respect and appreciation for First Nations and the Aboriginal culture is a must. Excellent communication skills including written, oral and listening are crucial to the success of this role. The ability to travel regularly to the various northern communities is also required. FireSpirit is developing plans to employ a virtual team of Capacity Builders who could deliver capacity building services to their respective communities while remaining in the community.

If you are interested in joining this unique organization and making a difference please submit your resume in confidence to firespirit@fire-spirit.ca or fax to (204) 477-9421.
